JKLF (R) concerned over deaths in hospitals
Srinagar, Sep 12: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar and senior vice-chairman, Javid Ahmad Mir has expressed serious concern over the frequent occurrence of deaths in hospitals especially in GB Pant Hospital here due to alleged negligence of doctors and ‘dismal’ performance of its administration. In a joint statement on Monday, the Front leaders alleged that due to absence of accountability in the medical and paramedical staff, non-availability of medicines of standard qualities and alleged negligence of doctors in the hospital there was alarming rise in the occurrence of patients’ deaths.
The leaders expressed concern and anguish over the unhygienic conditions, ‘substandard’ medicines and blatant corruption being indulged in by the paramedical staff in Lal Ded Hospital here. They alleged that the poor patients, who could not afford to pay money as gratification to the orderlies and other menial staff in this hospital, were subjected to inimical treatment. They alleged that the doctors on duty in this hospital were also showing ‘unkind’ attitude towards the poor patients.
