Release salaries of SSA teachers: CS

Srinagar, Sep 12: Chief Secretary, Madhav Lal today discussed the issue of pending salary of teachers appointed under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. He directed Secretary Education to expedite the process of release of state’s share under SSA so that teachers are paid their salaries. Chief Secretary also discussed matter related to the provision of drinking water to primary schools in the State. He reiterated that due diligence must be paid by the Public Health Engineering Department in this regard for which Centre has already released funds for covering 2000 schools under the scheme.
