Nayeem Khan demands int’l probe into mass graves
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Sep 16: Police on Friday arrested the chairman of National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan outside a Majsid here, a NF spokesman said in a statement.
He said police tried to stop Khan from offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Gole Market Karan Nagar here. “People present in the Masjid foiled the police move. After prayers ended policemen arrested Khan, triggering spontaneous protests. However, policemen resorted to baton charge and dispersed the people,” he added.
Earlier Khan in his address said, “Unnamed graves are not confined to north Kashmir only. There is every possibility of graves being present at each and every place where camps of forces are located. An independent probe should be conducted to ascertain the facts.”
He urged the international community to intervene so that facts are brought to fore. “Impartial and international investigation of unnamed graves can end the sufferings of thousands of people who are waiting for their kith and kin, who disappeared in custody in past 20-years, to return. There is every possibility of these unfortunate souls being buried in these graves,” he added.
