Rasheed seeks PDP’s support

GURU RESOLUTION

Srinagar: Continuing his efforts to garner support for the resolution seeking amnesty for Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru, MLA Langate Engineer Rasheed met Peoples Democratic Party patron and former chief minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed today.
 In the meeting, Rasheed conveyed his viewpoint vis-à-vis the Guru issue. He sought PDP’s support for his resolution saying the issue of Guru hanging was too delicate to be ignored. “The saner political quarters in the state have to join hands to ensure that hanging of Guru should not happen which will set the state on fire,” he said.
 Rasheed told the former CM that hanging Guru would have disastrous repercussion for the state, so PDP should support his resolution seeking amnesty for Guru.
 MLA Langate said that Mufti agreed with his viewpoint. “I expect PDP support for my resolution,” Rasheed said in a statement after the meeting.
