Srinagar Thang-Ta championship concludes
Srinagar, Sep 26: The District Srinagar Thang-Ta championship organised by District Srinagar Thang-Ta Association concluded at Government Degree College for Women's, Nawa Kadal here on Monday.
In the event 212 players from all over the district participated. The Championship was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
On the concluding day competitions of girls were held. In senior girls 54-kilogram category, Iqra Hafeez, Shafia and Insha bagged first three positions while in 58-kilograms senior girls category Hafeeza, Fizhat Rafiq and Yasmeena got first three positions. In 62 -kilogram senior girl’s category Fehmeeda, Nighat Parveen, Aliya bagged first three positions while in 66-kilogram category Nighat Rashid, Sehrish and Ishrat Rafiq bagged first three positions. In senior girls open category Farhana Farid, Mosmi Pandita and Nazra bagged first three positions while in sub-junior girls 49-kilogram Qurat-ul-Ain, Aroosa Zahoor and Azra Zahoor bagged first three positions respectively. In 45-kilograms sub-junior girls Abru Bilal, Atira and Bisma Zahoor bagged first three positions while in Nusrat Altaf, Iram, Ruksana bagged first three positions. In sub-junior 33-kilogram category Noha, Faika and Fiza bagged first three positions.
In sub-junior 41-kilogram category Shahnaz Nazir, Farhana Hamid and Shakira Mafood bagged first three positions while in sub-junior girls 50-kilogram category Sabreena, Fozia, Saima bagged first three positions respectively. In 37-kilogram category Tawseefa Gulzar, Zulykha Majeed and Sonia bagged first three positions respectively.
Sabiya, Iqra Altaf, Mehsu Aslam, Zeenat and Mutahira were given consolation prizes in various categories.
Principal Government Degree College for Women's, Nawa Kadal was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
