JK Bank opens cash counter for Vaishno Devi pilgrims

Srinagar, Sep 28: On the eve of Navratra, J&K Bank Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan Business Unit today established a ‘Fresh Cash Currency and Note Exchange counter’ for the convenience of devotees coming from across the country.
Dr. M. K. Bhandari (IAS) Additional CEO Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), who was Chief Guest, inaugurated the counter in presence of Pawan Kumar Sharma, SDM shrine board (Guest of honour), R. K. Chhibber, J&K Bank Vice President and Zonal Head, Jammu (West) and Ravi Sharma, Branch Head of the Business Unit.
A small but impressive function was held on the occasion which was attended by customers, officials of the SMVDSB, Police, local shopkeepers and large number of devotees from different corners of the country, the bank in a statement said.
The J&K Bank Zonal Head, R. K. Chhibber, welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion and presented a memento to the Chief Guest and the Guest of the Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhandari thanked J&K Bank for facilitating the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi services of a special counter for issuance of fresh currency and exchange of notes on the eve of Navaratras.
He lauded the relentless efforts of the bank particularly in the state of Jammu and Kashmir for the people’s empowerment, promoting trade, industry and being the biggest institution in the state to employ a large number of bright, educated youth.
Chhibber extended gratitude to the CEO, SDM and other dignitaries of the SMVDSB on behalf of the bank for gracing the occasion by their presence and always extending their undaunted support to the bank in conducting such programs on various other occasions.
