Woman among 2 killed, 4 injured in road mishaps
Srinagar, Sep 28: Two persons including a woman were killed and four others injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A Tata 407 minibus bearing registration number (JK01C-7910) hit and critically injured two persons, Mubashira daughter of Qamar-ud-Din Peer of Narbal Kawoosa and Me’raj-ud-Din Peer son of Abdul Rashid of Mamoosa Pattan near Lawrence School Rajbagh here, police said adding the duo was shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura for treatment where Mubashira succumbed to her injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, Ghulam Hassan Shah, 35, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Chined Baramulla who suffered grievous injuries in a road accident on September 14 succumbed to his wounds at SKIMS Soura, police said. It said Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din was critically wounded when his motorcycle bearing registration number (JK05B-6428) collided with a tipper bearing registration number (JK02B-4725).
In another incident, a Tata 608 load carrier bearing registration number (JK09-3715) collided with an alto car bearing registration number (JK04B-5749) near Litterbal Pampore resulting in injuries to three persons traveling in the car, police said adding the wounded have been identified as Abid Ansari son of Nazir Ahmad of Sarai Bala, Srinagar, Simran Singh son of Sajinder Singh of Batamaloo and Masroor Ahmad of Sopore. All the injured were shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment, police said adding a case had been registered in this regard.
MAN FALLS FROM TREE, DIES
A man died after he fell from a walnut tree at Gurdraman Larnoo, in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district.
According to police spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Abdul Gani Rather, 60, son of Ghulam Nabi Rainrath.
PDD EMPLOYEE DIES
A daily wager employee of Power Development Department died after he fell from an electric pole at Haloora in Islamabad (Anantnag).
According to police spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Muhammad Ramzan Gani, 45, son of Assadullah of Harda Sachin, Islamabad (Anantnag). Muhammad Ramzan was conducting repair works when the incident happened, the spokesman said, adding a case had been registered in this regard.
YOUTH DROWNS IN YOUSMARG
A youth drowned in Yousmarg dam in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to the police spokesman, the deceased has been identified as Javid Ahmad Baba, 26, son of Muhammad Abdullah of Batpora Chadoora.
The body was retrieved from the dam and handed over to the family, the spokesman added.
