DDE organises Urdu extension lecture
Srinagar, Sept 29: The Directorate of Distance Education, Kashmir University on Thursday organized Urdu extension lecture on “Gazal aur Nazam Ki Sinfi Shenakhat” in the auditorium of the directorate, a KU handout said.
The lecture was delivered by a noted Urdu scholar Prof Abul-Kalam Kashmi, from Aligarh Muslim University.
Prof Majid Muzamer, Head Department of Urdu who presided over the function said “this type of intellectual exercise would help the distance learners to make an in depth study of the subject.”
Noted Iqbaliat expert and Director Iqbal Institue of Culture and Philosophy Prof Bashir Ahmad Nehvi in his remarks “appreciated the subject depth of the guest scholar, and appealed the budding scholars, to work hard for the promotion of Urdu language.”
Dr Nahid Ruhee, in-charge Director, Distance Education said: “Seminar, workshops and extension lectures result in cross fertilization of ideas and help in achieving inter-generational knowledge mobility.” Dr Altaf Anjum, Assistant Professor, DDE presented the vote of thanks.
