SOLDIER KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT
Srinagar, Sep 5: An army vehicle hit and killed a soldier at Badamibagh cantonment here, police said today.
The accident took place yesterday when an army vehicle hit sepoy Sampat Kumar of 395 Field Company at Batwara in the cantonment area, they said adding he died instantly.
In another road accident, eight people were injured when two mini-buses collided at Baba Reshi bus stand in North Kashmir's Baramulla district.
GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE
A 15-year-old girl committed suicide allegedly by consuming some poisonous substance at her home at Kachi Piran Khan Sahib, Budgam, police said adding the body of the deceased was handed over to family for last rites.
2 HURT IN MISHAP
Two persons were injured when a poplar fell on their vehicle near B B Cantonment, Batwara in Srinagar. According to police, the tree fell on the vehicle bearing registration number (JK03-1190) wounding Sajad Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Muhammad of Botengo Islamabad (Anantnag) and constable Kulvinder Singh son of Kuldeep Singh of Udhampur. The wounded were referred to SKIMS Soura, Srinagar for treatment, police said.
MAN INJURED IN BEAR ATTACK
A bear attacked and wounded Khadim Hussain, 50, son of Mamudin of Salotlee Poonch near Baderkoot Nallah Tangmarg, Baramulla, police said adding the wounded had been shifted to sub district hospital Tangmarg for treatment.
