Fruit growers on exposure visit

Jammu, Sep 8: District Development Commissioner, Doda,  Farooq Ahmed Khan, today flagged off an exposure visit of 60 fruit growers of the District for Himachal Pardesh under centrally sponsored Horticulture Mission for North-Eastern States (HMNH) scheme organized by the Horticulture department.
 The DDC asked the growers to acquaint themselves with the modern methods and techniques being applied for better and high yield of the Horticulture produces. He asked them to fully utilize this ample opportunity provided by the government and equip themselves with the latest mode of building orchards in their respective areas to raise their socio-economic status.
 While speaking on the occasion, SMS Pomology Horticulture Department
 Doda, R.K Koul, revealed that the farmers will be taken to various parts of Himachal Pardesh to give them practical experience of building orchards. He said that they will be taken to research stations and private orchards so that they can interact with the fruit growers / private orchardists there and Resource persons of the Research Centres.
