Jammu,Sep 8: Investigators have traced the HuJI email claiming responsibility for the blast outside the Delhi High Court to a cybercafe in Kishtwar and detained three persons in this connection including the cafe owner.
Cyber cafe owner Mehmood Khawja was detained along with two others for questioning in connection with the Delhi Blast, police officials said. They are being interrogated in connection with the email, they said.
One of the detained persons has been identified as Khalid. Policemen in plainclothes have been deputed outside the cafe in Kishtwar town and are keeping a close watch on the movement of people.
DGP Kuldeep Khoda earlier said, “We are investigating the email link from Kishtwar district in connection with the Delhi blast”. “We are probing whether there is any link or not with the email from Kishtwar”, he said, adding police is working on it.
The email was sent from a cyber cafe in Kishtwar from the address harkatuljihadi2011@gmail.com.
The outfit had yesterday claimed responsibility for the blast outside the Delhi High Court which killed 12 people.
“We own responsibility of the blast at the High Court, Delhi. Our demand is that Afzal Guru’s death sentence should be repealed immediately as we would target major High Courts and the Supreme Court of India,” the HuJI email said.
The interrogation of the cyber café owner and three others has revealed that a youngster could have sent the mail as Afzal Guru’s case is an emotive issue in the region. Police are now looking for this youngster.
Secretary (Internal Secretary) in the Home Ministry, U K Bansal had said yesterday that the NIA is also verifying the authenticity of the email received by two media channels.
Asked about the communication received by TV channels, Director General of NIA S C Sinha had said, “It is too premature to comment on the HuJI mail but we are looking at it seriously because HuJI is a very prominent terrorist group which considers India as target number one.”
Delhi Police has in the past arrested several HuJI militants from the national capital.

IM SAYS IT CARRIED OUT BLAST
PTI Adds from New Delhi: Even as the investigators are still looking for clues in the Delhi High Court blast case, another e-mail claiming that Wednesday’s terror strike was carried out by the Indian Mujahideen has surfaced. The e-mail has been reportedly sent by an Indian Mujahideen operative even as four people, including three in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar and one in Uttar Pradesh, have been detained.
UK Bansal, Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that Anti-Terror Squads of neighbouring states are also helping in the investigations. Bansal said that forensic experts have been called in from other states and are helping the NIA.
He said that the e-mail sent reportedly by the Indian Mujahideen cannot be ignored and the investigators will probe it.
Meanwhile, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is at the blast site in a bid to collect as much evidence as possible. Elsewhere, teams are investigating other elements of the case, from tracing the e-mail sent, tracking phone records and rounding up suspects.
Union Home Minister P Chidambaram chaired a meeting of the chiefs of the Research and Analysis Wing, Intelligence Bureau and NIA on Thursday morning to review the security situation.
