AHD bids adieu to retiring officials

Srinagar, Mar 31: It was a day of retirements for the Animal Husbandry Department as several of its officers and officials attained the age of superannuation today after putting in decades of service.
Several functions were held by colleagues across the valley to bid adieu to the officials who retired.
While Dr B A Sehh, Chief AH Officer, Islamabad (Anantnag) was given a warm send off at Islamabad (Anantnag), Dr N A Badoo, LDO was accorded a farewell at Sumbal where Dr G Jeelani Qadri, Chief AH Officer, Bandipora presided over the function.
Farewell was also accorded to Dr Abdul Rashid Mir, LDO at Chadura where Dr Syed Zamir Andrabi, Dy Director (Central) AH Department and Dr M Y Dar, Chief AH Officer, Budgam also participated.
At the directorate of the department, Dr Bakhtiyar Naseem, Poultry Development, Farooq A Rather, Sr. Scale Stenographer, Ali Muhammad Najar, Sectional officer (Budget) and Bashir Ahmad Shah, Pvt. Secretary to the Director, where given an affectionate send off. While Farooq Ahmad Rather had joined the department in Dec, 1971, B A Shah had joined the service in 1972. Both these officials have had the distinction of working with as many 27 directors in succession.
A M Najar joined in 1981 as Jr Asstt. The list of retirees also included Ali Muhammad Khanday, Sr Veterinary Pharmacist of Frozen Semen Project Ranbirbagh.
Dr Bakhtiyar Naseem had joined the department in 1978 after his graduation from Bihar Veterinary College, Patna, was a second generation vet in his family, first being his illustrious father late Dr Muhammad Ramzan.
Dr Bakhtiyar thanked the participants and urged the young vets and Para vets to work hard to provide better services to the public.
Drs IA Phalgroo, ZA Allaie, N A Wani, M A Wani, Khurshid A Shah and B A Khan recounted the services of the retiring officials and wished them a happy post retirement life.
Dr F A Kaloo, Director, AH Department, wished the retirees and their families well and presented them mementoes on the occasion. He also sent similar messages to other retirees.
