Mirwaiz returns

Hurriyat (M) Terms US Attorney's Statement Ridiculous

Srinagar, Mar 31: The chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) returned to Srinagar on Saturday after completing his two-week long diplomatic tour to Geneva and Saudi Arabia, a spokesman of the conglomerate said.
He said Mirwaiz was received by a large number of supporters at Srinagar Airport. He was taken to his Nigeen residence in a procession.
Meanwhile, the spokesman rubbished as "figment of imagination" the claims made by the US attorney Neil H Macbride that its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was controlled  by Pakistan's ISI.
"The statement made by Macbride about the Mirwaiz is his figment of imagination," he said.
"Not only Mirwaiz, many people including justice-loving people in India, have written letters of support to Kashmir American Council chairman Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai. The US attorney has used their letters to level false allegations on them, which is not only unfortunate but condemnable as well," he said.
“The Kashmir movement is indigenous and it is not being run on the dictations of any foreign country,” he said.
Pertinently Attorney MacBride had made the claim before the US District Court in Alexandria, Virginia, ahead of the scheduled sentencing of Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai who had set up an organization Kashmiri American Council in the US to promote the separatist cause.
The spokesman strongly condemned the awarding of 2-year imprisonment sentence to Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai by a US Court.
