Anti-PDD protest held at Chandrima
Srinagar: Irked by indifferent attitude of the Power Development Department for failing to repair their transformer in past five months, residents of Chandrima Pattan on Monday uprooted electric poles in the area.
“We are reeling in darkness for past six months. We had approached PDD officials many times but they did not pay any heed. To register our protest against the PDD’s indifferent attitude, we were compelled to snap all the wires and uproot poles,” said Muhammad Saleem, a local.
Reports also said that the locals later staged protest in front of DC office Baramulla. Later the DC assured them to get the transformer installed within two days.
