Dog menace

This refers to the news regarding increasing dog mauling incidents in city. One night I was returning home from a hospital after attending to a patient. On my way back dogs chased me even though I was in my vehicle. They chased me for a considerable distance and their number was increasing. Somehow I managed to escape from the spot. I wonder how the inhabitants of the city will protect themselves from these ferocious canines, and what sort of measures are taken by the SMC authorities to tackle this menace, keeping in view the present tourist season.
