Delhi to host first lifestyle exhibition from Pakistan

New Delhi, Apr 10: Over 100 Pakistani top brands and designers in various categories like fashion textiles, designer furniture and leather goods will showcase their immaculately-finished items in 'Lifestyle Pakistan' exhibition to be held here in Pragati Maidan from April 12.
'Lifestyle Pakistan' is the first collaborative exhibition of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
Items that would be showcased include fashion textiles made of cotton and chiffon, designer furniture, 'Khusas' of Multan, bangles from Hyderabad and leather accessories, among other intricate handicrafts.
"More than 100 exhibitors will showcase high-end fashion and creative work. We have never had so many designs under one roof. It is one of the chains of trade normalisation taking place," Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Chairman Tariq Puri said at a press conference.
Besides unique designs, visitors can enjoy authentic Pakistani cuisine and musical performances lined up during the exposition, Puri said.
Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma along with his Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who is accompanied by 600 Pakistani businessmen, will inaugurate the four-day long exhibition.
Special security arrangements have been made for the Pakistani exhibitors and delegates. "We have requested all the exhibitors to carry their passports with them for security concerns. We have requested the Delhi Police for special security cover. Besides ITPO security, we have hired a private security agency Group 4," Vikram Sehgal, DIG, ITPO said.
