PDP activists stage protest in Bandipora
SUHAIL AJMAL
Bandipora, Apr 10: Accusing government of neglecting Bandipora district activists of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took out a protest march in this north Kashmir town on Tuesday.
Led by local MLA and senior PDP leader Nizamudin Bhat, the protesters, carrying placards and raising anti-government slogans marched, through the main markets.
Earlier, Bhat while addressing party workers said that he was fed up with government's “indifferent attitude” towards his constituency. "I am deeply hurt by the state government's lackadaisical attitude towards my constituency. No development is taking place," he added.
"I have brought the problems into the notice of the concerned authorities on many occasions but no action has been taken so far. The only option left with me is to initiate agitation," he said.
Bhat alleged that conditions in the town had gone from bad to worse. Choked sewerage, blocked drains and garbage dumps speak volumes of the apathy of the civil administration towards the welfare of the common man.
The PDP legislator asked the political leaders not to mislead people.
