Women farmers go on study tour
Jammu, Apr 10: A group of women farmers today left for a study tour. The women shall attend an orientation training course at Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana (RGMVP) Raibarielly (Uttar Pradesh).
The tour has been arranged by the J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans. The Group was flagged off by Rashpal Singh (MLA), Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans.
During the training, the women farmers would be taught about the concept of Self Help Groups (SHG)s for their socio-economic empowerment.
Since Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana (RGMVP) Railbarielly has done a tremendous task in preparing women groups to take up economic activities, it is hoped that the women farmers sent from Jammu and Kashmir to get a firsthand experience of the progress made in this regard can help their co-farmers to organize themselves in Self Help Groups for their empowerment.
