Expecting mother dies in Kupwara

Kupwara, Apr 12: An expecting mother died today after she could not reach hospital on time as the road connecting the village was washed away due to incessant rains.
Reports said Hajira Begum wife of Amir War resident of War Patti Kachama, nearly 30 kilometres from district headquarters here developed labor pain. “When we reached a diversion near the Melyal-Kachama bridge, it was washed away by flash floods,” said Muneer Ahmad Khan a sarpanch.
They locals tried to take Hajira on foot to hospital. “However she succumbed on way,” her relatives said.
