Shabir Shah arrested at Banihal
Srinagar, Apr 12: Police on Thursday arrested the senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah along with his other associates at Banihal on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
“Shabir Shah was on his way to Baderwah. The police first tried to stop him at Awantipora but the youth who gathered around him in a large number foiled the police bid. Shah succeeded to move forward and crossed Banihal tunnel. But the heavy contingent of police arrested him,” a DFP spokesman said.
