4 feared dead in Ramban accident

Banihal, Apr 13: At least four persons, including three of a family, were feared dead when a Sumo skidded off the road and plunged into river Chenab near Ramban township on Srinagar-Jammu highway, Friday evening.
 A woman and  her two minor children were among those feared dead, while one of her daughter survived with critical injuries.
 Police said that a Tata Sumo (JK02T-0632), which was on way from Ramban to Tatarsoo met with the accident on the outskirts of the Ramban township. Five persons were  traveling in the ill fated  vehicle.
 Witnesses said that there was no trace of the vehicle or the bodies, which were feared to have been washed away by the fast water current. Those feared dead were identified as Shahida Begum her daughter Rizwana and son Shahid of Tatarsoo and driver of the vehicle Tanveer Ahmed.
 Police said that one of the daughter of Shahida, Sahiba, survived in the mishap. She was found in the gorge with multiple injuries and was shifted to District Hospital Ramban.
