Air India to increase flights to Kashmir
New Delhi, Apr 16: National carrier Air India Monday said it will increase capacity on its Delhi-Jammu and Delhi-Srinagar sectors to cash in on the growing demand during the upcoming summer holiday season.
“Air India has decided to increase the number of seats offered between Delhi-Jammu and Delhi-Srinagar with effect from April 20 to June 15, 2012 by introducing new flights on these routes in addition to scheduled daily flights,” said an official with the national carrier.
According to the flag carrier, from April 20 it will start offering 3,052 seats per week from Delhi to Jammu and back by operating an additional flight six days a week. On the Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi route, the airline said that it will offer 3,480 seats per week by operating an additional direct flight six days a week.
"The additional flights will be operated by deploying one each 70 seater CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet) aircrafts six days a week on both the routes," it said. IANS
