5 killed in road accidents
3 Die On Highway, 2 In Kangan

Ramban/Kangan, Apr 17: At least three persons were killed when a truck they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into Bislari Nallah near Chamwalwas on Jammu-Srinagar highway near Ramban on Tuesday.
Police said that the truck (JK14B-9210) was carrying fertilizer and was on way from Jammu to Srinagar when it met with the mishap this afternoon.
Two brothers among three persons died on the spot. They were identified as Gopal S/o Des Raj R/o Udhampur, Sanjay and Bhagat Ram, brothers, of Udhampur.The bodies were evacuated from the nallah by the police and shifted to Sub District Hospital for postmortem.
Two persons died in two separate mishaps in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
According to reports a laborer Fayaz Ahmad Ganai (30) of Ganiwan Kangan died when a stone quarry at Mamar, in which he was working, collapsed resulting in his death.
Shakeel Ahmad Bujad of Gojarpati Kulan Sonamarg died when a Sumo, JK01Q- 3445, travelling from Srinagar to Sonamarg hit and injured him critically. Shakeel succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
Police seized the Sumo and arrested driver Muhammad Aslam of Hyderpora Srinagar. A case under FIR No. 12/2012/304-A under section 279 RPC has been registered against him.
