JKLF, PL pay tributes to S Hamid
Srinagar, Apr 17: Paying rich tributes to noted pro-freedom leader Shaheed S Hamid Wani on his martyrdom anniversary being observed on April 18, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front and Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ League headed by Mukhtar Ahmad Waza described him as an embodiment of simplicity, sincerity and bravery.
“Shaheed S Hamid was not only a great political leader but was also a virtuous and noble sole who always offered great sacrifices and suffered innumerable hardships and miseries right from his boyhood till the day of his martyrdom for the cause of freedom of Kashmir,” said a spokesman of the JKLF in a statement today, reiterating the pledge to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ League, at a meeting held here today with its chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in chair, described Shaheed-i-Inqalab S Hamid a great champion of peaceful struggle for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
Speaking on the occasion, Waza described S Hamid one of the frontline pro-freedom leaders of 70’s and founders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference. He said the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level. He reiterated the pledge to continue the liberation struggle, despite all odds. He asked New Delhi to show seriousness in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
