SHRC asks Er Rashid to file rejoinder

Forced Labour Case

Srinagar, Apr 17: The Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights today asked MLA Langate Er Rashid to file rejoinder, if any, to the reports of the DGP and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara in the forced labour case.  
 Hearing the case today, the Division Bench of SHRC comprising Javaid Kawoos and Rafiq Fida, went through the reports of the DGP and DC Kupwara.
 Officials said Er Rashid who had filed the complaint, was provided with the copies of the reports and asked to file rejoinder, if any, by next date of hearing on May 23. 
 In his complaint, Er Rashid has accused the Army of forcing people to work as bonded labourers from 1990-2003 in the district. During today’s hearing, Er Rashid sought compensation for the victims.
