AFSPA bogey raised to divert attention: JKLF

Srinagar, Apr 18: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front acting chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat on Wednesday claimed that the mainstream politicians were raising the bogey of AFSPA to “sabotage the ongoing freedom movement in Jammu Kashmir.”
“But the Kashmiris would scuttle all the plans aimed at sabotaging the ongoing freedom movement. Too much pitch is raised for removal of AFSPA like black laws to divert the attention from real issue and keep the people away of freedom struggle,” Bhat said.
“This is being done in such a way as if people have offered or are offering sacrifices for the removal of this draconian law only,” said Bhat, clarifying that the people have been struggling for the complete freedom and independence of Jammu Kashmir and not for any pecuniary benefit or change in law.
Bhat accused New Delhi of “using tactics like enforcement of black laws, killings, torture, incarceration and harassment to suppress and sabotage the ongoing freedom movement but all these weapons failed to make the people of Kashmir give their struggle.”
“Now the government and other pro-India political parties are trying to make the amendment of AFSPA such a big issue that it grabs attention of all the people in and outside Jammu Kashmir. On the other hand, Army is enacting the drama of keeping continue its enforcement in the State. The objective behind the claims of both the parties, state government and army, is only to suppress the ongoing freedom movement and give it a new turn,” he said.
Bhat said the people of Jammu Kashmir are the cardinal party to Kashmir issue and real masters of Kashmir. “The Kashmir issue cannot be resolved without ascertaining the wishes and aspirations and without involving them in the process of talks held for resolving it,” he said.
