Srinagar, Apr 18: Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) Officers Association have elected an adhoc body for holding its elections.
 The body was elected during the Association’s general body meeting held under the chairmanship of Syed Kifayat Hussain Rizvi at Srinagar.
 Showkat Ahmad Mir has been elected as President, Muhammad Saleem Shishgar, vice- president, Arwind Kotwal general secretary. Abid Maqbool, publicity secretary, respectively. The working committee comprises of Farooq Ahmad Lone, GM Brakboo, Tasaduq Hussain Mir , Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Amit Sharma, Gurmukh Singh, Munir- ul- Islam and Dr Arun Kumar Manhas.
 “It was decided that the Adhoc Body would ensure holding of the Association elections in shortest possible time and nominate the Returning and Assistant Returning officers for the purpose. The President of the Association (Adhoc Body) thanked the officers present in the meeting for reposing trust in him and said that Adhoc Body would meet the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary shortly for deliberating the issues concerning the KAS officers besides assuring well meaning participation of the officers for effective and responsive governance,” said Abid Maqbool publicity secretary of the newly formed body, in a statement.
