Sarpanchs, Panchs protest in Shopian

Shopian, Apr 18: Sarpanchs and Panchs of the district today staged protest here to press for their demand to reinstate the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Shopian who was placed under suspension recently.
Reports said hundreds of Sarpanchs and Panchs today assembled at the ACD office Shopian and locked the office. Later they marched towards the Deputy Commissioner’s office and staged protest.
“We demand reinstating of the ACD Shopian Muhammad Rafiq” reports said.
Pertinently, the ACD was suspended on the orders of Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ali Muhammad Sagar on March 16. He had instructed the Director Rural Development to submit a report regarding the complaints against the ACD.
