DPC clears promotion of 11 DIGs, 7 SSPs

Jammu, Apr 19: Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday cleared the names of at least 11 DIGs and 7 SSPs for their promotion to the next rank.
The DPC Comprising Chief Secretary Madhav Lal, Principal Secretary Home and Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, met here on Thursday, official sources said adding that after more than two hours long meeting names of several IPS officers were cleared for their promotion.
The commiittee clearned all the IPS officers of 1994 batch for their promotion as IGs. They include S. J. M. Gillani, On Central Deputation, Abdul Ghani , DIG CKR Srinagar, Muhammad Sulaiman Salaria, DIG Vigilance J&K, Sunil Kumar Sharma, DIG CID Jammu, Farooq Khan, DIG Jammu/Kathua Range, Dr K K Saini, DIG IR Jammu, PR Manhas, DIG Security J&K, Yoginder Koul , DIG Crime J&K, Alok Puri, DIG Administration, Muneer Ahmed Khan, DIG NKR Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom Manhas, DIG Trainings APHQ.
Similarly, all the SSPs of 1998 batch were promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police. They include R P Resutra, , SSP CID SB Jammu, Parminder Singh, SSP SSG J&K, Showkat Ahmad Malik, SSP CID SB Kashmir, S Ahfadul Mujtaba, SSP Vigilance, Abdul Hamid, CO IR-1st Bn, Mushtaq Muhammad Sadiq, Principal PTC Manigam and Shakeel Ahmed Beigh, SSP Udhampur.
The committee was also expected to take a decision on the promotion of four Inspector Generals of Police (IGPs). However, according to sources no decision was taken in this regard.
