Ganderbal, Apr 20: Inhabitants of various villages here today staged protest against the meter installation drive by the Power Development Department
Hundreds of inhabitants of Girage, Baderkund, Shahpora, Dobipora, Guzerbal and its adjoining area blocked the Srinagar-Sonamarg road to register their protest against the drive.
They said that in absence of erratic power services and infrastructure, the installation of meters was futile. “The PDD authorities should first improve its services and infrastructure and then install meters,” they demanded.
Later the protesters dispersed peacefully on the assurance of SHO Ganderbal of taking up the matter with PDD authorities.
