Ensure uninterrupted electricity to move employees: CS to PDD
Chairs Durbar Move Review Meeting
Jammu, Apr 20: Chief Secretary Madhav Lal on Saturday asked the Power Development Department (PDD) to ensure that there is no curtailment of electricity in the residential colonies of the move employees during summer months at Srinagar.
Chairing a high level meeting here to review Durbar Move arrangements the Chief Secretary directed PDD to ensure round the clock electricity to move employees.
An official spokesman said that during the meeting threadbare discussions were held on various issues for ensuring smooth conduct of Durbar move.
“It was decided that Managing Director, J&K SRTC would ensure adequate arrangements of transportation for carrying employees and record from Jammu to Srinagar on April 28, 29 and May 5 and 6, 2012,” he said.
“It was decided that the Commissioner/Secretary H&ME shall issue necessary instructions for arrangements of medical facilities for the move employees on the Highway from Jammu to Srinagar at identified locations as per past practice. Besides, the Health department shall also arrange standby ambulances, which shall accompany the convoy on the move days,” the spokesman said.
“IGP traffic shall ensure Non-pliance of military convoys/paramilitary forces convoys on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on the day of movement of employees from Jammu to Srinagar,” he said. “Director, Estates shall ensure that the cleanliness drive in residential colonies of employees at Srinagar and Civil Secretariat premises is carried out in collaboration with Srinagar Municipal Corporation.”
The spokesman said many other issues also came up for discussions during the review meeting.
