India Post Gold Coins Festival From April 21
‘Consumers will get 6 pc discount’

Srinagar, Apr 20: J&K Postal Circle will be organizing ‘India Post Gold Coins Festival’ from April 21 on the festive occasion of Akshaya Tritya.
John Samuel, Chief Post Master General said that during the festival, the Post Office will be offering 6 per cent discount to the customers on the gold coins. “This will make the purchase of Gold coins very attractive,” he said.
Samuel said that Post Offices at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu Tawi, Srinagar, Jawahar Nagar, Kathura and Udampur are selling gold coins of 24 carat with 99.99 % purity in the denomination 0.5 g, 1 g, 5 g, 8 g, 10 g, 20 g and 50 g. “The gold coins are manufactured by Valcambi from Switzerland and packed in a sealed cover with the certification from Valcambi, Switzerland,” he said.
He said: “It has the benefits like internationally recognized certification, low risk of duplication, quality packaging, product standardization, numbering, and assayer certificate.” As a part of the Gold coin festival, Chief Post master General announced that Gold coin sales will be extended to Janipur and R S Pura Post offices immediately.
Further, in connection with Akshaya Tritya festival, Gandhi Nagar and Jammu Tawi Post offices will be kept open for the sale of Gold coins from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 23 and 24.
