Short Validity Passport a hoax: Aspirants

Srinagar, Apr 21: Hajj aspirants of Valley on Saturday alleged that Passport Office had deceived them by making them file affidavits for the Short Validity Passport.
  “We are not being told clearly whether passports will be issued or not,” a delegation of Hajj aspirants told Greater Kashmir.
 “Last week Passport Officer issued a notification asking the Hajj aspirants to file an application and affidavit to seek Short Validity Passport (SVP). We followed the instructions but since then nothing ahs been conveyed to us. We are in a dilemma,” aspirants said. “We fail to understand how they will issue SVPs by or before April 22 /23.”
 Repeated attempts to contact Passport Officer and Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani proved futile as they didn’t pick up the phone.
