St Joseph HSS Bla organises cycle, cross -country race
Srinagar, Apr 21: To mark the beginning of competitions in various co curricular activities of Session 2011-2012, St. Joseph’s Higher secondary School, Baramulla has organized a Cycle race as well as cross country race on Saturday the 21st of April from Delina to School campus. About 140 students both boys and girls participated in both the events.
Marianus Minj DIG CRPF North Kashmir along with Fr. Sebastian Nagathunkal, the principal of the School flagged off the race in presence of parents and local people.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal said that such opportunities for students would enable them to invest their energy into creative directions so as to balance their mental and physical growth.
The winners of Cycle race from High School section were: Hamid Qureshi- X G, Faizan Zahoor- X Y, Sarabjeet Singh- X G, while Vishvadeep Singh- X G, Mohsin- X R, Nayeem Khan- X Y stood victorious in Cross Country race. In the same events for Higher Secondary, Umar Ayut Kirmani- XII Y, Gulam Jeelani- XI Y, Hyder Mushtaq- XI Y and Fahad Kar- XII G, Abdul Hanan- XII Y, Rubail- XII G bagged first, second and third respectively.
The winners of Road Race (Girls) are Nehdia Kakroo- IX Y(1st), Toiba Nissa- X R(2nd), Vamiqa Fayaz- X R(3rd).
The School Management congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation and the staff members for their personal care and supervision of the event at every level while hailing the praise worthy support and security provided by the CRPF and S.H.O Baramulla for the smooth conduct of the event.
