This refers to the measures taken by the Accountant General for prompt settlement of pension cases. Among other measures, nobody is allowed to enter the AG's office premises to enquire about his case. Instead, PRO has been entrusted with the task of providing information to pensioners, without disturbing the staff dealing with pension cases and other personal claims in the office. My pension case has been settled by the AG's office within a record time of less than a month. The state government should also adopt the same procedure in its offices like District Fund Officers, SLI, Local Fund Pension Offices etc., where retirees and pensioners have to face a lot of difficulties in getting their cases settled. The grievances of old aged pensioners should be addressed on priority.
