Star CC, UCC win matches
V-C’S CRICKET TOURNAMENT
Srinagar, Apr 23: In the ongoing Vice-Chancellor’s T20 Cricket Tournament, Star Cricket Club Buchpora and UCC won its respective matches played at Kashmir University ground here on Monday.
In the first match, Star CC Buchpora defeated BCC Nowhatta by eight wickets. Batting first, Nowhatta were bundled out for a paltry total of 98 runs in 17 overs. Aijaz with 22 was highest scorer for them while Niyaz took three wickets for Star CC.
In reply, Star CC achieved the required target in 15 overs for the loss of only two wickets. Naseer with 37 runs was highest scorer for them. Niyaz was adjudged as man of the match for his three wickets and 21 runs.
In the second match, UCC defeated Jehangir Association Bandipora by nine wickets. Batting first, Jehnagir Association scored 120 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted overs. Naseer with 37 runs was highest scorer for them while Showkat took five wickets for UCC.
In reply, UCC achieved required target for the loss of one wicket only in 13 overs. Amir with unbeaten 53 runs was highest scorer for them. Amir for his match winning knock of 53 runs and two wickets was adjudged as man of the match.
The event is being organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Kashmir University.
