Drive against spurious pesticides launched

Srinagar, Apr 24: Law Enforcement Agency of Agriculture Department today launched a massive drive against the dealers selling spurious pesticides, fertilizers and seeds. In this connection a team headed by Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir during its inspection in Budgam raided various godowns of pesticide dealers. The team, an official statement said, found Malik Seeds/Pesticides Magam and Mir Enterprises, Kremshore Budgam “selling pesticides without license. The team issued ‘sale stop orders’ for such pesticides and other materials against the dealers.
Meanwhile, according to the statement, Enforcement Inspector Srinagar on a confidential information raided residential premises of M/S K.J. Farmers at Rawalpora Srinagar where 120 litres of Discovery, 80 litres of Boron, expired quantity of 144 litres of Boron, 50 litres of calcium and 8 litres of SAI Gold worth Rs 2 lakh was seized. “The company has been involved in running the business without Registration/license, sale permission which is in contravention of Insecticide Act 1968 and Fertilizer Control Order 1985,” the statement said.
