Srinagar, Apr 24: The second day of district Srinagar boys Inter-School martial art games organised by District Srinagar Youth Services and Sports department saw competitions held in various disciplines at Youth Hostel here on Tuesday.
In the event, competitions of marital art disciplines of Taekwon-do and Sqay in all age groups are being held.
On Tuesday Sqay competitions in Under-14 and 17 categories were held. In Under1-4 25-kilogramn category, Shahnawaz of Green Land and Kaiser Manzoor of Usmania Schjool bagged first two positions while in 29-kilogram category, Mehrab of GHS Hazratbal, Furkan Arif of Usmania and M Suhaib Bhat of Greenland bagged first three positions respectively.
In 33-kilogram category, Asrar of Iqra Educational Institute, Abid Manzoor of Usmania and Abdul Hameed of GHS Hazratbal bagged first three positions respectively while in 37-kilogram category, Hilal of Iqra E.I, Farhan of Green Valley and Junaid Ahmad of Green Land bagged first three places respectively. In 41-kilogram category, Hadeed of Iqra E.I bagged first place while Hanan od Usmania and Mehran of Green Valley bagged second and third places respectively. In 45-kilogram category, Uzair of Miranda, Maroof Mumtaz of Iqra E.I and Arsalan of Usmania bagged first three positions respectively while in open category, Behkhauiz of Iqra E.I, Imran of Green Valley and Inam of Usamania bagged first three positions respectively.
In Under-17, open category, Furkan of Iqbal Mission, Ehsaan Manzoor of Police Public and Mohsin of Green Valley bagged first three places respectively while in 60-kilogram category Firdous Ahmad of Iqbal Mission, Numan Reyaz of Green Valley and Amin of Police Public School bagged first three positions respectively. In 56-kilogram category, Bilal Ahmad of Iqbal Mission, Sameer of Iqra E.I and Omais of Usmania bagged first three positions respectively. In 52-kilogram category, Imitiyaz Ahmad of Iqra E.I bagged first position while Tufail Akram of Police Public School and Aqib of Usmania bagged second and third positions respectively.
Earlier on the inaugural day of the event competitions of Taekwon-do were held in all three categories of Under-19, 17 and 14.
In under-19 category, Fasil Shafi of SP School, Muneeb of MP School, Raja Waseem, Junaid Abdullah, Ishfaq Ahmad and Dawood Rashid all from SP school bagged first positions in their respective weight categories while in Under-17 category, Zahid Khan of Green land, Suhaib Ayoub of K Harvard, Khalid Burhan of Standard Public School, Syed Toha of Tahira Khanams school, Muhammad Amir of Standard Public, Syed Ather of Standard Public, Muhammad Hassan and Muhammad Saqib both of Green Land bagged first positions in their respective weight categories.
In Under-14 category, Faisal Altaf, Sadiq Manzoor, Khursheed Ahmad all three from Usmania Public School, Snober Farooq and Basit Ali both from Minto Circle bagged first positions in their respective weight categories.
On Wednesday competitions of Under-19 Sqay would be held followed by Girls competitions from Thursday.
