Creation of 165 posts in PDD on cards: Rather
Jammu, Apr 25: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather on Wednesday said creation of 165 posts in PDD is in offing.
"Reorganization of Power Development Department is necessitated by coming in vogue of J&K Electricity Act 2010 which includes provision for creation of transmission, distribution and trading utilities besides creation of State Electricity Regulatory Committee (SERC) which is already in place in the State and is fully functional," he said while chairing a high level meeting of officers here. Others who were present in the meeting included minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Principal Secretary Finance, Muhammad Iqbal Khandey, Principal Secretary PDD, Sudhanshu Pandey, Secretary PDD, Muhammad Altaf, Director Codes, Dr Muhammad Ishaq Wani, Development Commissioner Power, Manzoor Ahmad Salroo and Secretary Technical PDD, and Asghar Ali Majaz
Detailed power point presentation was made by the Principal Secretary PDD, Sudhanshu Pandey along with consultant ‘Price Water House’ engaged for the job.
The meeting discussed threadbare the reorganization map prepared by the consultant for the existing Power Development Department.
It was agreed in principle that the new dispensation will require creation of 165 posts which includes 67 posts to be upgraded from the existing ones. The meeting also agreed to move the proposal to finance department for its concurrence for Power Development Department.
Other key provisions which came under discussion include formation of State Transmission Utility, constitution of State Load Dispatch Centre and constitution of State Electricity Regularity Committee.
