Earth Day

April 22 is globally celebrated as Earth Day, an annual environmental event seeking to promote the conservation of the earth’s natural environment. The main objective of Earth Day celebrations is to highlight the growing environmental problems, and to find ways to tackle these problems.  We need clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and toxic-free surroundings to live in. This calls for nurturing and conserving nature to protect the earth. Adopt environmentally friendly measures at home and at work. These measures include switching off lights that are not in use, stopping water spills, and repairing water leaks as well as disposing of garbage promptly and properly. Accumulated water spills and garbage creates filthy environment, which will breed micro-organisms that are harmful to our health. Keeping the Earth free from environmental hazards is everyone’s responsibility. We should treat every day as Earth day.
