Law on cards to protect Hindu shrines, temples: Taj Mohiuddin

Jammu, Apr 25: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohiuddin, on Wednesday said the Government is enacting a law to protect Hindu shrines and temples in Kashmir from being misused by some unscrupulous elements.
 Interacting with a deputation of Kashmiri Pandits here the Minister said the Government has already ordered that no report is to be issued in respect of such properties.
 He said Kashmiri Pandits are an important constituent of Kashmiri culture and the majority community their also looks forward to their return back home.
 Taj said the Government is contemplating a law to protect the shrines and temples of Pandits in the Valley. He expressed concern that some non state subject unscrupulous elements were forcibly occupying these temples and later selling them.
 Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawang Rigzin Jora was also present in the meeting.
