13 sportspersons get Govt jobs
Appointments made against direct recruitment quota

Srinagar, Apr 26: Jammu and Kashmir government Thursday ordered direct appointment of 13 candidates in various departments against outstanding sportspersons category.
As per order no: 431-GAD of 2012 dated April 26, 2012 issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) l3 outstanding sportspersons have been appointed against available direct quota vacancies. The appointment order was issued in terms of SRO 349 of 1998.
Out of the 13 appointees 12 belong to Jammu region and one from Kashmir valley.
According to the order, Arjun Gandotra son of Ashok Gandotra and Gourav Sharma son of Sham Lal Sharma, both the residents of Jammu were appointed as JE (Grade-II) and Technician-Ill in PDD department.
The remaining eleven appointments of the sportspersons were made as Teachers and Laboratory Assistants in the School Education Department in Jammu and Srinagar. The appointees including Renu Sharma daughter of Ashok Kumar of Rajbagh Kathua, Neha Choudary, daughter of Balwant Choudary of Digiana, Jammu, Rohit Vadan son of Jagdish Lal of Old Rehari Mohallah, Jammu, and Geetanjali Aggarwal daughter of RD Aggarwal of Paharian Mohallah, Jammu, who were appointed as teachers in the School Education Department, while Masrat Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Nehru Park, Dal Lake, Srinagar, Meenakshi Bali daughter of Surinder Mohan Bali of Rehari Colony, Jammu, Vikas Sharma son of Om Prakash Sharma of Rehari Colony, Jammu, Mandeepika Talwar daughter of Lt Amarjeet Singh of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Channi Himmat, Jammu, Shivani daughter of Sudesh Kumar of Mohallah Kaleeth, Jammu, Veena Kumari wife of Suresh Pal of Dhakki Sirajan, Jammu, Vishal Gondhi son of Baldev Raj Gondhi of Jammu were appointed as Laboratory Assistants in the department.
As per the order the appointees will be on probation for a period of two years and shall report to their respective Administrative Departments or HODs within a period of 21 days from the date of issue of the order.
