KU GOES CLEAN, GREEN

Srinagar, Apr 26: In a candid confession, the Kashmir University admitted that the campus used to be littered with garbage particularly plastic adding that since Wednesday things started to go clean as the KU VC Prof Talat Ahmed personally participated in a Campus Clean Up drive.
“Next time you visit the Kashmir University campus, you are unlikely to find a single piece of plastic waste. Almost all the plastic and other waste was cleared and disposed of from the University campus on Wednesday,” the KU PRO said.
“Kashmir University students, department heads and Deans led by the VC Prof Talat Ahmad got together in the first of its kind drive to sanitise an area of over 263 acres of picturesque KU campus free of plastic and other waste,” the PRO added.
“Hundreds of students showed lot of enthusiasm in the cleanliness drive and appreciated the VC the way he is alive to the social and environmental issues,” the PRO said.
“We involved the students to make them understand the importance of keeping the campus clean,” said the VC.
Other prominent who attended the sanitation drive included Registrar KU Prof Syed Fayaz, Dean Students Welfare Prof Nilofar Khan and Prof Shakeel A Romshoo.
