CTA (Jammu wing) delegation meets Comm Hr Edu deptt

Srinagar, Apr 27:  College Teachers Association (Jammu Wing) on Friday claimed to have been assured by commissioner/secretary, Higher Education Department, Tanveer Jehan about their long pending demand of placement and promotion orders of around 500 Assistant Professors.
 A CTA statement said commissioner/secretary assured them that orders would be issued immediately upon reopening of the office in the Srinagar Secretariat.
 “The same could not be issued before the closure of the move offices due to some procedural formalities. This was stated by the Hon’ble Commissioner/Secretary when Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, President & Dr Satesh Bhan, General Secretary of CTA (Jammu wing) called upon her in her office,” said the statement. Among other issues that were discussed with the Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education was consideration of Deputation of College Teachers for one Semester Ph.D course work and framing of Career Advancement Rules. “It was also assured by her that the direct teaching hours for the college teachers would be reviewed before the commencement of the next academic session,” the statement added.
