IUST player wins gold
Srinagar, Apr 27: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora student bagged first place in the Open Kashmir badminton championship held at Sheri-Kashmir indoor stadium here on Thursday.
“Sabir Suhaib Mir have won the first prize in the “19th Open Kashmir Badminton Championship, Under-19 singles. It is for the first time that IUST student has won such a prize in badminton tournament,” a statement of IUST said.
Sabir Suhaib Mir was selected by Directorate of Physical Education to represent University along with other four boys and five girls.
The girls who participated have also won some rounds while the boys lost in quarterfinals. Sabir Suhaib Mir will represent IUST in the forth coming Inter-University Badminton Championship.
