‘Make business education more result-oriented’
VC for raising Business School to centre of excellence

Srinagar, Apr 28: Vice Chancellor KU Prof Talat Ahmad today laid emphasis for making business education more result-oriented.
During an interaction with the faculty members and scholars of Business School KU here on Saturday, the VC presented a vision for business education in the state and for the Business School to become centre of excellence by 2020.
Prof Shabir A Bhat, Director Business School coordinated the interactive session.
Stressing on the need to develop a synergized vision to achieve the ultimate goal of making the University a globally renowned institution of knowledge and learning, Prof Talat said: “We should stress on the importance of quality research for making business education more result oriented and I advise the young faculty to take up research projects and action research that can lead to socio economic development of the state.”
During his interaction Prof Talat focused on various areas that can help make the Business School institution of repute at the international level.
He said “The need of the hour is to align business education with the present and future demands of the industry in particular and the society in general and developing the employability skills of the students so that they can come up to expectations of the corporate world.”
He added “There is also a need to enhance the overall personality of the students and to provide adequate exposure to the students by providing them opportunities to interact with leading corporate executive and renowned academicians and to get a first hand experience of the industry through internships and industrial visits.”
Director Business School Prof Shabir Ahmad Bhat stressed that both the industry and academic institutions have a strong role to play for making education more contemporary and providing the youth newer opportunities in dynamic and growing economy.
Prof Bhat informed the VC about the various initiatives of the department for imparting training to MBA students in reputed industries across the country.
