Drug peddler held selling Charas: Police

Srinagar, Apr 28: Police on Saturday claimed to have booked two drug peddlers under PSA for allegedly selling Brown Sugar while a man was nabbed along with 300 gms of Charas from Malkha area of old City.
When contacted SDPO Khanyar, Tahir Saleem Khan said: “Acting on a tip off Nowhatta police arrested a drug peddler from Malkha when he was attempting to sell Charas, a cannabis derivative among the youth of the area.”
He said a case Vide FIR No 21/2012 under section 8/20 NDPS has been registered.
Meanwhile, the Nowhatta police booked two allegedly notorious drug peddlers under PSA for “procuring and selling narcotic drugs for a persistent period of time”.
“The accused were arrested in February this year red handed while trying to selling Diacetyl morphine (brown sugar in common parlance) and case Vide FIR No 04/2012 under section 18,21,29 NDPS stood registered against them,” the SDPO said.
