Take stock of snow clearance work

Kargil, Apr 2: The Executive Councilor for Agriculture and Revenue LAHDC Kargil Haji Ghulam Amir Kamran and other top dignitaries visited Parkachik to take the stock of snow clearance work, officials said.        
 They said Kamran was accompanied by Executive Councilor Zanskar Affairs and Tourism Punchok Tashi, Councilor Tai Suru Syed Abass Razvi, nominated Councilor from Zanskar Tsering Angdoos and S E Mechanical Division Kargil Sher Khan.
 They said the dignitaries visited 10 km beyond Parkachik where the snow clearance work on the 234 Kargil Padum Road is in progress. 
 The Mechanical division Kargil started the snow clearance work some five days back from Kilometer 97 on Kargil Padum road and till date 16 km has been cleared.
 The Kargil Padum road was closed for all kind of vehicular traffic in December last year. Since then whole Zanskar Valley is cut off from the district headquarters and rest of the world, officials added.
 The Executive Councilors appreciated the efforts of the snow clearance team and assured for suitable rewards on completion of the job within the fixed targets.
