Opposition castigates Govt for using state machinery

Unveiling Of Maharaja’s Statute

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, Apr 2: Jammu based opposition parties today lambasted the state government for using the official machinery in a function, which turned out to be a political rally organised by Congress in Jammu the other day.
Terming the non-invitation to the non-Congress legislators in a function organized by the government to unveil statute of Maharaja Hari Singh a cruel joke, the opposition members said the government machinery was used by the Congress in its political function.
As the proceedings of the Assembly started this morning, legislators of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and Jammu State Morcha (JSM) started criticizing the government for not inviting all legislators in the function.
BJP legislator Jugal Kishore accused the government especially Congress ministers of making mockery of the system. “Hari Singh was Maharaja of the entire state but it is very unfortunate that all the legislators were not invited in the function. You have done Congressikaran of the function. I also wanted to ask the government that why NC legislators were not present in the function?”, he said, adding that the government should take notice of the issue.
Castigating the government JKNPP legislator Harshdev Singh said that it was not a party function. “The contribution of Raja is for entire state which cannot be undermined. The government should have involved all the people in the function. We highly condemn it,” he rued.
The JSM legislator Ashwani Kumar Sharma said that the all-party function was changed to a single party function. Chamal Lal Gupta criticized government for using government machinery in organizing the function.
Taking a dig at government for inaugurating the statue and park on April 1, JKNPP legislator Balwant Mankotia said that it was embarrassing for the Dogra ruler. “Maharaja Hari Singh had a great contribution for the upliftment of downtrodden sections of society but it was totally embarrassing for Dogras that his statue and park dedicated to him were inaugurated on the day which is known as Fool’s day in world”, Mankotia stated.
