Glittering Stars, Burzhama Club win matches

Srinagar, Apr 3: In the ongoing Vice-Chancellor’s T-20 cricket tournament two matches were played at Kashmir University ground here on Tuesday.
In the first match Glittering Stars defeated Agriculture University by six wickets. Batting first Agriculture University scored 100 runs in the allotted overs for the loss of four wickets. Gowher with 75 runs was highest scorer while Nasir and Inayat took two wickets each for Glittering Stars.
In reply Glittering Stars achieved the target in 16.4 overs for the loss of only four wickets. Aqib with 40 was highest scorer for the winning team. Mutahir of glittering Stars was adjudged as man of the match for his 28 runs and economical bowling figures of four overs, thirteen runs.
In the second match, Burzhama Cricket Club defeated Asaar Cricket Club by 19 runs.
Batting first Burzihama Club scored 177 runs for the loss of six wickets. Muhammad Rafique with 66 and Shakeel with 52 were major contributors for the batting team. In reply Asaar Club managed to score only 158 runs in the allotted overs for the loss of seven wickets. Muhammad Rafique was adjudged as man of the match.
On Wednesday BCC Nowhatta will lock horns with Bakura Qureshi Club in first match while in second Usmaniya Club will be against Coaching Centre Kanimazaar.
The event is being organised by Directorate of Physical Education and Sports department Kashmir University.
